Kroger has been known for the fast food franchise for many years, and now the fast-food chain is going the opposite direction.
The company said Monday that it will sell all of its stores to an independent grocer, who will offer a variety of products and services.
Kroger plans to keep its franchisees and employees.
The move is expected to save the company nearly $500 million, according to Bloomberg.
The news comes just weeks after Kroger announced it had laid off hundreds of employees as it continues to try to reinvent itself as a consumer goods and grocery chain.
